Welcome back. It’s Stephen hunt, Managing Director of Hunt Hospitality International. Firstly, I like to do a shout out to the guys at Grow Capital. So that’s Nick and Gus. I’ve been business partners of theirs for years, and recently did a podcast with Nick. So, I just want to say thank you to Nick. The relationship I’ve held with these guys and the team at Grow Capital has been outstanding over the years.
In actual fact, I don’t know if you’ve seen my video where I Raised a Million Dollars in One Day. Well, the final investors on that day were Nick and Gus and one of our significant investors, so I’m truly always grateful for the contribution they made to my business and have done over the years.
Now on to Podcasts. So, it’s great to be invited on to do a podcast, but like anything, you’ve got to do your prep work. So, I’ve been on several podcasts now and each time I’m invited I always like to get a series of questions. The reason why we’d like to know this is so I can do my research and so it’s more of an informative session for you guys! You don’t listen to some boring podcasts; someone can’t answer the questions to. So, like anything, do your research. Also not only do your research on the questions that you’re going to answer but do your research on the person who is interviewing you. It just helps you to connect with the interviewer and myself for more of an entertaining podcast.
Speaking of networking, I think it’s important to work with your professional associations. I have the Australian Hotels Association, the Chamber of Commerce, the Hunter Business Chamber and the Restaurant and Caterers Association. I keep in close contact with these associations at all times, especially throughout COVID. The reason why I do this is – I call it put myself in the right room. It’s really, really important to put yourself amongst industry leaders. So for that I have the Hotels Association and Restaurant and Caterers. So that gives me a close line on what’s happening with my particular industry. With the Chamber of Commerce and Hunter Business, the reason why I go to those meetings and attend and keep in close contact with those associations is because of their overall business knowledge. And I find when you morph the two it gives me a better understanding of not only how the economy is going, but closer to the home – how my particularly industry is going.
So, thanks very much! If you want to have a chat or catch up, please contact me at the email address given below. Cheers!
