Today I’m discussing 3 Tips to Avoid Burnout: Reading, relaxation and reflection.

I always find to start the day off, I like to do a bit of reading. And without even opening my emails or checking any electronics on my phone or anything like that.

Tip 1: Read

The first thing I like to do is spend a little bit of time just reading: could be a book about sport, could be a book about finance, it could be just any kind of novel! So I started off with reading.

Tip 2: Relax

The second thing I do is relaxation! Give yourself some time to relax. I saw this great story about LeBron James, and how he takes his relaxation really seriously. Basically before every basketball game, he has two hours where he has a rest and he has a sleep. And he blackens out the room: there’s no music, there’s no electronics, and that is making the most of his relaxation time. He takes it seriously! It sounds funny but look at how successful LeBron is! I would take a leaf out of his book any day of the week.

Tip 3: Reflect

And finally, reflection. Now, at the end of each day, I normally sit down and go through everything that has happened in that particular day and do a little bit of journaling. I do a bit of a summary on the good and the bad things have happened and how I’ve achieved them and what I’m going to go to do for the next day. That few minutes of reflection helps me process and also helps me remember about the good things about the day. And what my myself and my team have done to overcome any hardship or just to have any successes!
